We’ve been eating apples like crazy and that couldn’t even keep this episode away. This week we’re talking about 1992 slasher DR. GIGGLES! Starring Holly Marie Combs, Larry Drake, Glenn Quinn and Michelle Johnson this late-to-the-party film missed the slasher crazy by a few years but is still a fun cut-em-up with good production values and pretty solid acting. Long live Erica!

Episode 64 - BAD MOON!!!

Hey Sis, Uncle Ted is coming to visit for this week’s episode. We’re talking about Eric Red’s 1996 werewolf movie BAD MOON! Starring Mariel Hemingway, Michael Pare & Mason Gamble this creature feature is pretty good with great gore and practical effects but very short and falls victim to some pretty bad dialogue. We enjoy it! We talk the movie, a little about production and then discuss Eric Red’s legal woes. Sis, it’s a good time sis. Sis!

Episode 63 - LEECHES!!!

White socks, board shorts, off-brand Speedo’s, lots and lots of slow motion and the hardest working college doctor around… this week we’re talking about David Decoteau’s LEECHES! Directed by Mr. Coteau and written by Fangoria’s Michael Gingold, this movie(?) stars Michael Lutz, Josh Henderson and Matt Twining as members of a college swim team getting sucked on by steroid-loving leeches. It is a doozy. We talk the movie and then play a game of ‘Decoteau Plot or Not’ where Mitch has to guess if a plot is a Christopher original or a genuine Decoteau film.

Episode 61 - BAY OF BLOOD!!!

This week we’re dipping our toes into a Bay of Blood aka Twitch of the Death Nerve aka Carnage aka MANY THINGS. Seriously, this photo-slasher has a lot of alternate titles. Directed by Mario Bava and starring Claudine Auger, Brigitte Skay, Chris Avram and Laura Betti, Bay of Blood heavily influenced slashers to come. It’s a kooky, but enjoyable ride!

Episode 57 - ROCKTOBER BLOOD!!!

Big hair, electric guitars and very little sense… this episode we’re talking about 1984 hair metal slasher ROCKTOBER BLOOD! Written by Ferd & Beverly Sebastian with Beverly also in the director’s chair Rocktober Blood stars their son Tracy Sebastian (or Tray Loren as he’s credited here) as Billy Eye, a seemingly(but not really) undead maniac singer with his sights on revenge! Rounding out the cast are Donna Scoggins as Headmistress’ new lead singer Lynn and Nigel Benjamin as band manager Chris, as well as performing the vocals for Billy. This thing is a mess. We share our spoiler-free thoughts on the new Pet Sematary, talk about the movie and then Christopher explains how Nigel Benjamin ended up lending his vocals.

Episode 54 - AEROBICIDE!!!

We’ve got our lycra onesies, headbands and tank tops ready because this episode we’re talking about David A. Prior’s AEROBICIDE aka KILLER WORKOUT!!! This very 80’s slasher stars Marcia Karr, Ted Prior and Teresa Van der Woude as tight-bodied aerobics aficionados dealing with a killer who’s making their way through the client base of Rhonda’s Workout. It has a great title, bitchin’ aerobics montages, crazy choreographed fight scenes and amazing music but that’s really where it ends and it never reaches the potential it could have had… but, we had fun watching it.

Episode 53 - LEPRECHAUN 2!!!

We Lepre-can’t believe that it is St. Patrick’s Day weekend and we’re celebrating with our first legacy film, LEPRECHAUN 2 (aka One Wedding and Lots of Funerals)! Directed by Rodman Flender and starring Warwick Davis, Shevonne Durkin, Charlie Heath & Sandy Baron, this follow-up has little in common with the first film and isn’t even as fun. Warwick Davis does his best to carry the movie but it ends up being a boring mess with some unfortunate sets that don’t hold up. We talk the movie then learn about the skeleton puppeteer and what the original plan for the film and its sequel were. Did you have your iron today?

This episode we’re talking about David DeCoteau’s Final Stab aka Final Scream starring Erinn Hayes, Melissa Renee Martin, Chris Boyd, Jamie Gannon and Laila Reece Landon as young folks killing and being killed at a secluded house that was the site of a quadruple homicide. It’s kind of like April Fool’s Day meets Scream but with a lot of strobe lightning, a camera that’s always moving and barely a moment that doesn’t have score playing underneath it. We talk the movie and then play another game of ‘DECOTEAU OR PORN?’ where Mitch has to decide between two titles to guess which is a film by prolific director David DeCoteau or a regular ol’ porno.

Hold on to your yellow trucker hats because in this episode we’re talking all about 1989 zombie flick J.R. This little gem is a fun, goofy low budget feature shot on Super 8 in Akron, Ohio that follows a team of soldiers (Zombie Squad) as they set out to complete the serum that can finally kill the zombies. But it won’t be that easy because they also have to do battle with a local end-of-days cult that believes it’s God’s plan to kill the human race. We LOVED it!

Episode 49 - MY BLOODY VALENTINE!!!

We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day and talking about  George Mihalka’s 1981 Canadian slashterpiece MY BLOODY VALENTINE!!! Starring Lori Hallier, Cynthia Dale, Paul Kelman and Neil Affleck as young residents of Valentine’s Bluff where 20 years ago Harry Warden killed the heck out of a couple people with a pickaxe on Valentine’s Day and now, on the eve of the first Valentine’s Day dance in 20 years people are being killed at Hanniger Mine. We love this one, and it is Mitch’s favourite slasher movie with one of the nicest, most Canadian, good-intentioned blunders during production. Be our bloody Valentines!

Episode 48 - LOVERS LANE!!!

It’s the first of two Valentine’s Day episodes and we’re getting into the romantic mood and talking about loosely Valentine’s Day themed 1999 slasher LOVERS LANE starring Erin J Dean, Anna Faris, Riley Smith & Sarah Lancaster and directed by Jon Ward,  Thirteen years ago Mandy’s Mom and Michael’s Dad were murdered on Lovers Lane by a hook-handed maniac(or was it!?) and now its Michael and his pals being murdered. This movie is a pretty big mess featuring incestuous relations, a terrible wig and a whole bunch of Coke product placement in the age of Pepsi. Line drive, bitch.
